Greetings Folks who want To Really Live

We are at the cusp of another turn around the sun – a year eclipsing and a new one dawning.

I hope that our call and community practices and experiences have been a light and guide for you - to slow, savour and serve – preparation to live abundantly.

Every person I meet tells us what a wondrous thing it is that we are doing. It is always heartwarming to hear it, but questions still bob around: so many people are doing related stuff, declutter, simplify, get real… do we really need TRL?

This is what is called a Clarifying Question. It is not pride or hubris to ask what one is serving up and seek to do it well.

The answer I circle back to is a resounding YES. Because we do not want you to improve some aspect of your life. You are a system; and a system works well, flourishes when it is a healthy system, with the parts connected meaningfully.

But this needs a few ingredients, which you will find peppered throughout our website actually:

New Experiences: we are all shaped by our experiences. To live differently requires us to be able to imagine, feel, and concretise the change. We humbly offer these as we can and invite you to come and taste.

New Practices: we are all creatures of habit, and it will take intentional adjustments to our timetable and priorities. An experience lifts us up momentarily, but a practice makes things permanent. To really live is to flourish which means we have to slow down enough to find our pace, savour enough to accept our circumstances and grow enough to serve well.

New Friends: this journey requires others. As we gather, we start off as strangers keen on a similar journey of transformation. Some will feel more easy and comfortable, others will be a bit of a challenge. I urge you to embrace the growth that awaits as you embrace new friends and help build this community. Like-minded people (not 100% of course!) are hard to come by. When someone gets us, and we feel seen, it unlocks something in us: courage.

And all growth, change and flourishing require courage.

Every single story we feature here has these ingredients: experience, practice, people, and courage.

I welcome you to test this out for yourself, we are here with you!

Ah, you noticed that I used ‘we’ – because it takes a village for each life – and how thankful I am for those who have not only long to really live, but desire and serve others. Let me name them so you can appreciate them too:

With Christmas around the corner, may we offer a few gifts:

  1. A work review template

For those who want to stop coasting or struggling, and take a courageous look.

  1. A year end reflection

We have our year end retreat along the theme of Prodigal, based on a set of three powerful stories told by Jesus. But here is something else you can use, especially if you cannot make it to our retreat. You can plan your own time of rest and renewal with this.

I have worked on these and if you want to appreciate me for it, please hop over to one of these giving sites:
